If you are the typical employee you probably spend a large part of your time in your little cubicle, sitting on your chair, typing at your computer. While this sounds easy, you would know that that is far from real. Now what made me decide to deal with this topic? Simply because like you, I have been reaping the results of my daily activities. Back pain, sharp pains in the neck, numb behind – do these symptoms sound familiar?

While there is nothing much that we can do about our job description (sitting all the time!), there is something that we can do about the pain that we experience due to a sedentary lifestyle. For one, check out your chair. Ever since people started to exhibit symptoms like the ones I described above, different sectors have been trying to improve the conditions that employees have to work in. We may take our chairs for granted but in fact, they are one major factor.

The best chair that you can have is one that can be adjusted with regards to height and tilt. More often than not, when I start feeling pain on my neck, I adjust the height of my chair until I find a more comfortable position. Yet more than that, we have to bear in mind that the best chair means nothing if we do not have the proper sitting posture. This is essential for long term health. Another thing, why not take a break from sitting down every so often and stand up for a bit. Take a short walk, pace the office, get a cup of coffee or whatever – as long as you give your body a break from that sitting position.

For most healthcare institutions and hospitals, patient charts containing the medical history of their patients are kept in order for assigned physicians to have a basis for making their medical diagnoses. Current medical complaints and conditions need to be traced prior to prescribing and advising new medicines and health examinations such as laboratory examinations and cardiology exercises. One wrong advice could lead to patient liability and may worsen the situation of the patient.

Most people would refer to medical charts as a useless way of tracking their health history. But if all of these documents were to be compiled, it can provide a better of the overall health of a person from infancy to adulthood. pictureThere are certain areas to consider such as allergies and prior medications and vaccination. All of these are important before new medical treatment is provided to them by licensed physicians affiliated with such healthcare groups.

Health is something that has become very delicate as of late. No longer is health relegated towards the hands of aspirins and paracetamols like the early years since the growing numbers of discovered illness and diseases have become something that may even go to the extent of becoming deadly and serious.

Strange feelings or sudden attacks of fevers and colds are not plain flu like symptoms today. With the outbreak of such viruses such as the Bird Flu virus and AIDS, anything can hit anybody during actual contact or even from simply smelling wide open air.

The need for people to become more aware of their health has truly been something to pay more attention to. Health risks have simply become too delicate to overlook and referring to the mortality rate of today, it is not hard to note why. A regular annual check-up wouldn’t hurt people’s lives. One day out of 365 calendar days in a year is not much of a burden for the sake of individual health care today.
