Most of the times, back pain begin after the age of 35'sand 40's. The pain is usually due to excessive use of the back - so be it by sitting for too long or by standing for too long. There might also be hereditary reasons for the same. The cure might be to see an expert doctor who can advise you and do a checkup to see how grave the problem is. Most of the times, it is just due to calcium deficiency but sometimes a surgery might be needed.
I just found a link that can explain the basics: http://www.tunearticles.com/articles/spinal-back-pains-and-relief-treatments.html
