I think that addiction is really difficult to get ahold of. It’s so easy to just fall victim to the social atmosphere, what the cool kids are doing, what the party-goers are doing. All too often we let other people and the media dictate what we should be doing and what’s “fun” or “cool.” Even more so, we use it to get away from our problems. I think 1800nodrugs is a great tool to help those before their problems get too out of hand.
One of my favorite resources in the addiction situation lately has been the A&E show Intervention. They convince an addicted person that they’re being filmed for a documentary, and then they use the footage to show them how their addiction is affecting their life.
