You have to admit, most of the Western world is experiencing a health crisis today. Despite all the hoop-lah on health and well-being, statistics show a sharp increase in health problems like obesity, cardiovascular issues, respiratory problems, and more. Even parts of the East are not exempt from such issues. Children today have more illnesses than children, say, of 30 years ago. What is the reason behind the evolving heath concerns?
Now I am not a medical professional. I cannot even profess to be in the best of health. What I can tell you is that I am an individual who has realized the value of my personal health. For this reason, I have recently taken up with a professional wellness trainer. From our first session alone, I have come to realize so many things regarding my health and overall well-being. Instead of going straight to working out, we had an evaluative counseling session first. We talked about my habits – eating, sleeping, leisure, exercise – practically anything! Though I knew most of what she said at the back of my head, it was only when things were actually said out in the open that I was able to acknowledge that I need to be active in regaining and maintaining my health.
I thought that it would be great to share my learning experiences with you. So that is what this blog is going to be all about – evaluating your own health and lifestyle as well as taking little steps in that journey to overall fitness as an individual. L’chaim!
