There is no doubt about it – Christmas is the time to feast and eat as much as you can, right? Well, that is if you want to feel unwell the day after you go about your feasting. It is true that is very hard NOT to indulge yourself when Christmas time comes around. After all, it is not everyday that something like this comes your way.
I don’t know about you, though, but I’d rather enjoy myself during Christmas and not feel ill afterwards. Here are some tips to keep that bloat away during the holidays.
Choose what you eat
This is common sense, really, but what I want to point out is that you should not over indulge in dishes that you know will give you indigestion later on. Focus on the healthy but sumptuous dishes. Eat more smoked salmon and other fish, turkey, fruits, and nuts. I am not saying that you should not eat ham, pork roast, crisps, and all those other goodies. All I am saying is eat less of those and more of the healthy options.
Eat in smaller portions
The tendency when we see the buffet table is to pile up food on our plates as high as physically possible. Avoid this! Instead, get smaller portions and have a taste of everything. The chances are that your cravings will get satisfied as soon as you get a small taste of what is there to have anyway.
