In the previous post, I ended with the tantalizing idea that you just maintain your current weight instead of trying to shed more pounds during the holiday season. Yet how exactly do you do this? There are many ways and means, really. I think, however, that there should be a basic rule that you should follow – eat only what your stomach can hold, chew your food slowly, and do not rush eating.
More so, do not make the food the focal point of parties and other gatherings. After all, what is the main reason that you are at the party or gathering? It is probably to spend time with your friends and/or family, right? So instead of focusing solely on the delectable food in front of you, extend your horizons and mingle and focus on the people around you.
Another tip for staying fit during Christmas is to watch what you drink. Though beverages are liquid, they do tend to be heavy when it comes to calories. I am talking about alcohol, especially. Though I know that parties are meant to be overflowing with alcohol, I suggest that you do your drinking in moderation</em> during the holiday period – that is, if you want to watch your weight.
In addition to this, you can be more careful in picking what you drink. If you are a beer drinker, try to stick to the light beers. Wine is also good when it comes to calories. I suggest that you stay away from mixed drinks.
(more to come)
