I was browsing some blogs when I ran across a post on how some people make excuses for not working out or at least trying to be healthy. I think the blog post struck something deep within me as I could not get it off my mind. So here I am, writing about the same topic, in an effort to answer the question for myself.
Am I using my overbooked schedule to put off going to the gym, taking a walk, or riding my elliptical bike? I don’t know if I shared it with you but early this year, I bought one of those elliptical exercise machines because I thought that instead of going to the gym, I could just have some cardio here at home everyday. It is pretty convenient and for the first few weeks of the year, I was able to stick to my plan.
As the second month of the year comes in, though, I seem to be one of those people who prioritize their work schedule instead. I am up to my neck in work in the office. I have my blogs that I have to write for everyday. I have to do this and that – the list goes on and on. Yeah, I think I am pretty much making an excuse not to ride my bike regularly. It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s just that I am really busy. If I had more time, I am sure that I would be working my way to fitness without any problems. (I know how lame I am sounding right now.)
How about you? Are you spending enough time keeping fit or are you using your overbooked schedule as an excuse as well? Maybe it’s time we all get real here.
