Ground beef is good for the health but only if it is the lean type. The beef should be 85 to 95 percent lean to help a person reduce weight. The protein in lean beef helps in preserving muscle mass which in turn help the body burn calories faster. An Australian study has shown that women who ate lean red meat six times in a week shed 25 percent more weight compared to the non-eaters.
Oatmeal is another must-eat food. Regardless of its type, eating it can make a person feel full longer. Being a whole grain, it digests slowly and maintains a person’s blood sugar level. The best way to enjoy it is to cook it and eat it with chopped fruits. It can also be added to cookies and meat-loaf mix.
Did you know that popcorn is also good for losing weight? They’re great for satisfying one’s hunger but just remember to make your own without the butter topping like those sold at the movie theaters. Also, avoid using palm oil and instead of salt, sprinkle it instead with cinnamon or chili powder.
