Many studies have confirmed the adverse effects caused by prolonged sitting. In fact, the findings are quite serious that people who sit for long hours on their desks every day have a greater risk of heart disease, diabetes and even death. Researchers have suggested that being able to take breaks in between and be in a standing position is one of the effective ways to avoid health problems. This is in addition to doing regular exercise.
In terms of furniture, using an ergonomic chair and adjustable computer desk is very helpful. Having a desk that can be moved up and down whenever you like will help people work in a standing position every now and then after prolonged sitting.
